ONMS Pacific Islands Region (PIR), along with Hawaii's other NOAA agencies, are co-sponsoring an exhibit at the Honolulu Hale, the City and County of Honolulu's historic office building. The opening ceremony, held on July 13th, was attended by NOAA, the Waikiki Aquarium, Bishop Museum, the City and County staff, and the public. Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hanneman gave a welcoming speech, and PIR Director Allen Tom also made remarks. In addition to displays from the NOAA offices, the exhibit features photos lent by Outrigger Hotels, and a display from the Waikiki Aquarium which will be opening a new show on the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument later this year.

The City and County of Honolulu offered the PIR the opportunity to use the Honolulu Hale for an exhibit. The PIR invited other NOAA agencies, and our partners the Waikiki Aquarium and Outrigger Hotels, to join us in a collaborative display in this wonderful space.
The exhibit is open until July 30, and is free to the public. Go to this link to view a photomontage of the exhibit (if you are asked for a password, type in: noaa).
