Call the Crab Cab for your kindergarten, 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade class and we'll bring the learning right to your door! The Crab Cab is a fun interactive 45-minute classroom program where students learn about crabs, crab diversity and good seashore manners. Activities include a crab dress-up, crab theater, songs, and observations of live crabs.
Adaptations from the Depths
This curriculum kit is based on the Texas 5E model, which takes elementary students through a variety of exploratory activities to learn more about animal adaptations, especially those of the common octopus. The kit consists of the written curriculum, several small posters for use in the introductory activity and a video segment of a common octopus moving around on the reef in the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary.
Honu Survivor
Students will participate in discussions and role-play to learn the hardships of baby Green Sea Turtles. The students will learn about the low survival rate due to natural predators and man.

Expedition Lesson Plans
Educators and scientists working with NOAA during October 2002 developed a series of lesson plans for students in Grades 5 – 12 that are specifically tied to the Northwestern Hawaiian Island Expedition. These lesson plans focus on cutting-edge ocean exploration and research, using state-of-the-art technology, aboard University of Hawaii’s research vessel Kilo Moana.
Virtual Submersible Dive
Take a virtual tour of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary using a single-person submersible, called DeepWorker 2000. Explore the canopy of a kelp forest and watch sea lions dart by in search of food. This virtual dive was developed in partnership with the National Geographic Society.
