As a Supervisory Sanctuary Superintendent, you will perform the following duties: Develop and implement Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary (FKNMS) program functions and collaborate with government and non-government entities and stakeholders in support of FKNMS programs and policies. Direct the day-to-day implementation and execution of the organization's administrative and financial operations, to include multiyear and longer budget and agreements. Carry out policies and purposes of the National Marine Sanctuaries Act, relevant presidential proclamations, executive orders, and oversee development of plans and programs for both short and long time frames to conserve, protect, enhance, restore, investigate, and manage sanctuary resources through research and outreach. Exercise supervisory authority over the FKNMS program staff and manage the human resources functions and staffing planning for programs. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the operation of a Federal motor vehicle. This position has physical requirements. This position requires the submission of a Financial Disclosure Form, SF-450. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Frequent travel to a variety of locations to meet with collaborators and participate in community or scientific presentations, meetings and discussions is required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license to operate a government vehicle. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: May require participation in fieldwork. Fieldwork may require the incumbent to walk and work for several hours along unpaved shorelines or work on research vessels in the marine offshore environment. The incumbent may be required to stand for long periods of time, and bend/stoop and lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted during such work.
