Fishes galore!
This image conveys what divers often experience at Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary: fishes galore! A diver can be surrounded by large schools of different species of fish all moving in various directions. The effect can be dizzying but magical! In this photo there are Atlantic spadefish (larger fish with vertical stripes) and tomtate (smaller, torpedo-shaped fish). In the foreground are the ever-curious black sea bass, which will approach divers and bite at their bubbles.
