Tunicate and cup corals

Tatoosh Island, WA has an incredible diversity of invertebrates that live attached to rocky substrate. Here a colonial tunicate is slowly overgrowing orange cup corals. This battle is relatively short-lived, since the tunicate lives months while the corals can live several years, even when temporarily covered by the tunicate.
