New Orleans

Here, a dive boat idles over the shallow remains of the 1838-built sidewheel steamer New Orleans. Resting in just 15 feet of water, New Orleans makes for a fantastic snorkeling and diving site. The remains are situation between Thunder Bay Island and Sugar Island. Having sank in 1849, it is currently the earliest known shipwreck in Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
